Hubby and I go to Walt Disney World a lot considering we live over 2,000 miles away. We tend to one one, maybe two large trip a year, and by large I mean, more than five days, and the rest of our Disney trips are usually three to four days, sometimes even just two full days. On those trips, our Annual Pass that allows us to park hop at any of the four
parks as many times as we wish is paramount to us getting the most out of our trips.
I thought that it would be fun to do a post to talk about the perfect Disney day! What I would do, start to finish for my perfect Disney day! I would love to hear what your perfect Disney day would entail and how it would differ from mine, so be sure to let me know in the comments.
Let’s get started!
First things first, for my perfect Disney day, I would wake up at either the Grand Floridian or Animal Kingdom Lodge (Savannah view). I always get up really early on our Disney vacations so I can get a workout in. Getting a workout in starts my day off on the right food and allows me to feel better about all of the amazingly unhealthy treats I am going to indulge in.
For my workout, if I was staying at Grand Floridian, I would take the path around Seven Seas Lagoon. Just me and my headphones and the amazing path that takes you in front of Magic Kingdom (gasp), around to the Contemporary. Unfortunately, the path does not continue to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) (boo), so I would turn around and head back to the Grand Floridian, past the Magic Kingdom (gasp again). I would pass by the Grand Floridian and Continue to the Polynesian and then back again ending at the Grand Floridian.
Workout finished and ready to face the day, hubby and I would head to Magic Kingdom for rope drop. I want to make sure we get there and experience the Welcome Show then as everyone else bolts off to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, we would book it to Adventureland and hop on Pirates of the Caribbean really quickly before wandering through a near empty Liberty Square and getting a quick Haunted Mansion in.
I love experiencing Disney Parks when there are no crowds. There is nothing quite like it. Next up on my ideal Disney day we would have a Fast Pass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Then we would head to Main Street for our first Starbucks fix of the day!
After our Starbucks we are going to head in and meet the Mouse himself, Mickey and then we are going to leave Magic Kingdom and head to Epcot! Once at Epcot, we get a Fast Pass for Frozen Ever After and then go to Les Halles for a bacon cheddar roll and a sweet treat as well.
Important to note that we would be stopping for every photo pass opportunity along the way because I simply cannot walk by a photo pass without taking advantage of it. After Frozen, we are going to jump on Soarin’ and Living With The Land and then we are headed back outside of Epcot and will take a Monorail over to the Polynesian Resort where we will do some resort hopping. After exploring the Poly, we will take a Monorail to Grand Floridian to explore and then we will hop a boat to Magic Kingdom and then jump on another boat to Wilderness Lodge.
Resort hopping is one of my absolute favorite things to do in Disney. At Wilderness Lodge, we will stop at Roaring Fork for a Campfire Cupcake and then head outside on the patio overlooking the grounds and the pool to relax for a bit.
From Wilderness Lodge, we are headed to Animal Kingdom! After a Fast Pass on Flight of Passage and also one for Na’Vi River Journey, we are going to go over to Nomad Lounge for a cocktail, and a cheese plate. I will have the Annapura Zing, which is a delightful specialty cocktail offering at Nomad that includes gin, ginger beer and passionfruit.
After relaxing for a bit at Nomad, let’s go catch a safari on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Of course, for my ideal Disney day, all of the animals will be out and about and we will get to see everyone!
Onward! We are venturing to Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge. You have to try this place, even if it is just for the bread service! Sanaa is kind of a hidden gem mostly because Animal Kingdom Lodge is kind of the forgotten resort for a lot of people because it is not as convenient as some of the others. Sanaa is great though and you can sit and watch the animals on the savannah. It truly is a unique and wonderful Disney experience.
Heading back to Magic Kingdom, we are going to wander around, ride a few more rides and then sit back and watch Happily Ever After from my favorite fireworks spot. (Can you guess where from the photo?)
That is my perfect Disney day, but I’ll be honest with you, it really depends on what mood I’m in for this. Sometimes it would look a lot different than this. During a festival, I would want to spend a lot more time at Epcot and where I would ideally want to eat changes all the time! I would love to know what your ideal Disney day would look like.
That’s it for this post. Be sure to stay tuned for more in this series. We’ll see ya’ real soon and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
