On our last trip to Walt Disney World, we had an impromptu dinner at Beaches and Cream! It was our first experience at this place and hubby was really excited! Beaches and Cream is located at Disney’s Beach Club Resort and is easily accessible from Epcot, Yacht Club, Beach Club and The Boardwalk. This very popular retro establishment is especially known for its over the top kitchen sink sundae.
There are two types of kitchen sink sundaes and each version is massive! Big enough to easily serve four. The original kitchen sink has giant scoops of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee and mint chip ice cream. Then every single topping option in the restaurant are piled on top.
Pound cake, Oreos, candy bars of all sorts, nuts, white chocolate and milk chocolate shavings, chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, brownies, gummies, pineapple, banana, maraschino cherries, marshmallow cream, chocolate, caramel and peanut butter sauce, an ENTIRE can of whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles! So many rainbow sprinkles! Did I mention the rainbow sprinkles?
If you are a chocolate fan, like a real chocolate fan, not a so-so chocolate fan, give the chocolate lover’s kitchen sink! This sugary sweet mess (in a good way), is chock full of scoops of chocolate, vanilla and cookies and cream ice cream then topped with brownies, Oreos, Milky Way, caramel syrup, chocolate syrup, chocolate chips, white and milk chocolate shavings and topped once again with a whole can of whipped cream!
There is ALSO a smaller version of the kitchen sink sundae and that is the Mickey Pants Sundae. This is way cuter than the other two and way smaller. This sundae is two scoops of chocolate ice cream; your choice of either strawberry, caramel, chocolate or peanut butter sauce, chocolate and peanut butter chips, whipped cream (though not an entire can) and a cherry!
There are other amazing sweet treats on this menu as well so you don’t have to go all in with these kitchen sink options. There is the no way jose sundae! This is for all of you peanut butter lover’s out there. This is vanilla ice cream topped with warm peanut butter and chocolate sauces, peanut butter and chocolate chips, chocolate sprinkles and whipped cream is a must if you crave peanut butter and ice cream.
One of the most popular menu items is the grilled banana bread with peanut butter. This is certainly big enough to share, or you go for it and try to down the whole yummy treat on your own! You get two large slices of banana bread and sandwiched in between is a large serving of peanut butter. Then it is grilled! Topped with vanilla ice cream, more peanut butter, sliced caramelized bananas and whipped cream. I don’t like peanut butter (I know, I know) but even I like this creation.
There is more to Beaches and Cream then just dessert! This classic soda shop will take you back in time to some of your favorite throwback movies of the good ol’ days!
The traditional soda shop fare includes an amazing grilled cheese and tomato bisque, an open faced meatloaf sandwich and a turkey club sandwich. One of my favorite things on the menu are the onion rings. They are so good! Not super greasy, breaded perfectly, so good.
One last thing I want to mention are the floats and shakes. The shakes are great, hand spun, thick and creamy and they also have floats!
You can, in addition to the non-alcoholic drinks get amazing frozen adult versions. One of my favorites is the s’mores! This includes, Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream, Amarula cream liqueur, and creme de dark cacao topped with Marshmallow, chocolate sauce, and graham crackers. I love all things s’mores so this is right up my alley. There is also a tropical sunrise float. I will say I didn’t love this but I love rainbow sherbet so I had to give it a try. I think I would have preferred a non-alcoholic version of this but the pineapple hard cider they paired the sherbet with just didn’t do it for me. Personal opinion of course, would love to know your thoughts.
This is a must try in my opinion. I love this cute little place along the boardwalk. From the theming to the food and the great service, definitely check it out. This is a small space so I always recommend a reservation. If you just want to grab some ice cream and sit on the lawn or along the boardwalk you can order their sweet treats, except for the kitchen sink, at the to-go spot inside the restaurant. Be sure to check out the menu!
That’s it for this post. Thanks for stopping by and I would love to hear your thoughts on Beaches and Cream Soda Shop located along the Disney Boardwalk. We’ll be back soon with another post so we will see ya’ real soon and for the love of the mouse, never forget that it all started with a mouse.
