Disney Itinerary

For those who have been following our journey so far, first of all, thank you. Second, you know that we are a little crazy when it comes to planning. At least I am. Bryson books the trips, and makes the reservations, I plan all the in between stuff and make sure that we don’t sleep. People say that when they get back from vacations, they need a vacation, we are those people.

norawasOur upcoming trip is no different. We are staying at the Grand Floridian and after our most recent trip and after really thinking long and hard about it, I am cutting it back. Now that we are annual passholders, we are going to slow it down. I still want to rope drop and I still want to close the parks on some days but I want to make sure that we enjoy our resort. Who knows if we will ever stay at this resort again and after our trip to Disney during the same time last year and staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we need to take advantage of our beautiful resort and take the time to enjoy it and soak it in.

So, let’s talk itinerary. Why do I do an itinerary? I need to know what our plans are. We make a lot of reservations and we have our fast passes and I need to keep it straight. It drives me crazy to not have it documented what we are doing and to not have a plan. That doesn’t mean that the plans don’t change, but it gives us a good idea of what we have going on and what we have coming up.

ecptrI print out our itinerary and I carry it with me in my backpack. I don’t need to do this because all of our reservations and fast passes are kept on our MyDisneyExperience App but I like to have it handy and on paper. We have some really great stuff planned for this upcoming trip! The day we arrive we get there in the early evening and we are going to go check in and head straight to Epcot for the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party; which i am really excited for. Especially since we missed IllumiNations on our last trip AND we get to go on the Frozen ride.

Our first full day in Disney will also be in Epcot. We are actually going to rope drop Epcot, which we have never done before. I will have our itinerary with us so when we take a moment to relax in the parks we can whip out our itinerary and see where we are at. But, to reiterate, all of your dining reservations on property and your fast passes, are at your fingertips on the My Disney Experience App.

Another great tip for keeping an itinerary is to mark down what days you are rope dropping, closing, and different items you want to try or make sure you see on that day. I keep our snacks we want to try on it and where they are located.

Here is a snippet from our itinerary for our holiday trip:

Day 1 (First Full Day)- Epcot (Extra magic hours 8am – 9am)

Rope Drop Epcot:

Frozen Ever After opens with the park not with World Showcase at 11 and is available for extra magic hours so we should head straight there then head to Soarin’.

10:50 am Soarin’

~Lunch – Rose and Crown 12:15

Meet Disney pals: 4:10

~Dinner – Marrakesh 5:15

Each section is a different color which is helpful to me so I can scan our large itinerary quickly. Another tip is to make sure that you are checking with official Walt Disney World platforms to know that what you are planning is feasible. For example: originally, on the day highlighted above, we had planned to head over to the late Happily Ever After fireworks show after IllumiNations but upon further review, Magic Kingdom was closing for a private party at 8 pm so that was not possible.

230I hope that this post has helped you in planing your next Walt Disney World trip. I highly recommend using the My Disney Experience app as best you can and I recommend an itinerary. These two things can help you to have a plan but also know plans can change! Thanks for stopping by Disney family! We’ll see ya’ real soon and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse!
