Hi Disney friends! Today, we are going to continue with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP). There is so much to do and see and today we are going to talk snacks. There are snacks all over the park, some free, some for purchase, that are either only available this time of the year or only available during MVMCP. This post will highlight the “free” treats available throughout Magic Kingdom during MVMCP and also those that are available for purchase during the party.
I say “free” because, well, you paid for them, with your purchase of a party ticket, but they are complimentary with that purchase. This year, for the first time, there is a larger variety of treats available and even a savory option!
You will be able to recognize the places where these treats are available with the large inflatable light up peppermint stick that was used last year as well!
If you are a die hard and want the old MVMCP classic, have no fear, you can still get the hot cocoa and snickerdoodle cookie at Cosmic Ray’s. If you remember the snow cone that was available last year, well it is back again this year, paired with the Santa sugar cookie. You can pick these up at Auntie Gravity’s.
Pinnochio Village house will have the apple cider and a selection of cookies this year. If you want to only make one complimentary treat stop for the party, this is the one to make because all of the cookies are available here. That’s right, if you want, you can get the snickerdoodle, the santa sugar, the peppermint crunch and the ginger molasses.
Pete’s Silly sideshow is home to peppermint bark cookies as well and you can pair that with a Nestle chocolate milk. Friar’s Nook is also hosting a treat stand this year and I actually love that they are offering sparkling apple cider and Dove chocolates. I love egg nog, so I will be sure to stop at the Ticket Booth in Liberty Square for the egg nog and ginger molasses cookie. Usually, we stop and I get a few (yes a few) egg nog cups before we watch the parade because we typically grab a spot in or around Liberty Square for the parade.
Last but certainly not least, Tortuga Tavern has the savory option this year and boy is it cute! A snowman shaped soft pretzel with salt and the same blue snow cone offered up at Auntie Gravity’s is available here. I have never been one to turn down a pretzel so I love this option!
Onto the treats available for purchase this year. I have to admit, I was so looking forward to getting another Christmas tree cupcake from Gaston’s Tavern but alas, it is not meant to be. There are several gluten free options available this year and as much I as appreciate the accommodation of those who don’t eat gluten, I do and the gluten free options never taste good. I’m sorry, I know that’s a bit too honest for some but they don’t and I miss my gluten packed tasty options.
Ok I’m done moaning, let’s get on with the sugar high! I think that this MVMCP snack has probably been the most popular on social media and other blogs thus far this year from what I have seen. The red velvet Mickey Waffle Sundae. Have you seen these? They are the same adorable Mickey waffles we all know and love but in red velvet! Have you tried these? What were your thoughts? I am pretty sure Hubby will want to give these a shot while we are there because he LOVES Mickey waffles and it actually looks to be a pretty good deal for all you get. Two Mickey waffles, vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce and festive Christmas sprinkles, all for $6.49 or a Disney Dining Plan (DDP) snack credit.
I love all things Yule Log related and Magic Kingdom has two versions this year. I am way more excited for the International Festival of the Holiday’s options of this treat than I am for these but here we go! One option, a gluten free option is located at Main Street Confectionary. This appears to be more of a fruity option, not traditional. A flourless chocolate cake, white chocolate and raspberry mousse and a gelee.
Over at Pecos Bill’s they are offering a more traditional take on the yule log. The same flourless chocolate cake from the fruity version rolled with a chocolate mousse and topped with a chocolate frosting and chocolate ganache. Both versions of the yule log have white chocolate pieces with really cute Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas pictures.
The egg nog custard over at Storybook Treats is by far the most complained about dessert for the party. I will not be trying this one just because all the reviews thus far have said that it has no flavor and is not worth the $4.99 price. Save your sugar for one of the other treats. I am disappointed about this though because I love egg nog and have every intention of giving this a go.
Over at Gaston’s Tavern there is another gluten free option. The Enchanted Christmas Belle Dessert looks super cute and has a white chocolate Belle on top. I am not going to lie though, this dessert doesn’t sound amazingly appetizing and you might think it is odd why; it is a peppermint mousse dessert on top of a flourless chocolate cake. This is why I think it is odd; the dessert is a yellow dome, peppermint is not yellow and I can’t envision a peppermint flavored food being yellow. That’s just me, don’t skip it because of me, try it! Have you tried it? What did you think? And what do you think about a peppermint dessert being yellow?
There is another Jack Skellington dessert for the Christmas party! And it’s another push pop item! This one however looks and sounds tasty and I want to try this one! A vanilla, orange sponge cake is a cranberry cherry mousse and also a cream cheese frosting and holiday sprinkles.
Last but not least over at Cosmic Ray’s there is a Tinkerbell dessert. Another mirror glass dessert this one is green. The inside is a flourless chocolate cake and there are three types of mousse, chocolate peppermint, dark chocolate and raspberry. This one looks cute and festive because it is green.
What are your favorites from MVMCP this year or what do you want to try? Thank you for stopping by and checking out this post! I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you check out other posts too! We’ll see ya’ real soon and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse!
