Another Deluxe Disney Dining Plan (DDP) post! Yay! I know that at the beginning of your first dining plan experience everyone is thinking, there is no way this is enough and we will have to ration these. By the end of your trip, you will be looking for ways to spend those credits trust me! I see it happen every trip and it’s happened to us.
Disclaimer: this is less likely to happen during Epcot Food and Wine Festival because there are just so many things to try that you should take full advantage of every snack credit and eat that food!
First of all, do not waste your snack credits on water. Ever. Don’t do it. I’ll tell you why. You can go to any kiosk, refreshment stand, counter service restaurant on Disney property and request a cup of ice water and they will give you one free of charge.
It is important to remember that you can use your dining plan credits how you see fit during your vacation. Although it says in your plan, you get 3 table service credits and 2 snack credits a day; if you buy the plan for 6 days all your points are put on your magic band and you can use them at your discretion.
If you are able to snag a breakfast reservation at Cinderella’s Royal Table for breakfast and Tiffins in Animal Kingdom for dinner, both of those are 2 dining credits but you can still use your dining plan credits for both meals. If you decide to live off of Mickey ice cream bars and pretzels one day and use only snack credits you can do that as well.
So, it’s your last day. You have dining credits to spare. What should you do?
Head to Starbucks! All drinks at Starbucks in all sizes qualify for the DDP as a snack credit! That’s right. You can get a venti pumpkin spice latte with coconut milk for a DDP. Or a tall coffee or an iced tea or whatever it is that your little heart desires as a snack credit.
Head to the gift shop! Walk on over to your hotel gift shop and load up on to-go snacks. You can grab things like krispie treats, chip and dale snacks, bagged candy and more and take them home with you to savor a little magic even after you leave the happiest place on earth.
Satisfy that sweet tooth! If you are in Magic Kingdom, pop on into Main Street Confectionary. There are so many things available for snack credits here. From cotton candy, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies and chocolate dipped treats galore, stock up on treats from here, wrap them up tight and take them home to your friends and family…or keep them for yourself!
Another great spot at Magic Kingdom is Big Top Treats. Similar to Main Street Confectionary, they have a lot of the same treats including packaged cookies, popcorn, krispie treats, candy, chocolate and more. Many of these are available for snack credits and are easily stored in suitcases or bags to take home.
If you really want to splurge and have a few snack credits burning a hole in your pocket and you are at Magic Kingdom, here is what you do. Go into Main Street Confectionary and purchase a cupcake or two cookies of any kind. There are the Mickey cookies that are chocolate dipped on the ear end, there are specialty cookies of all sorts and they vary depending on the season. OR, you can purchase two krispie treats, sometimes these are chocolate dipped as well or have sprinkles or various candies. All of these things can be purchased with snack credits. So, you have either spent one snack credit on a cupcake or two on two cookies.
If you are in Epcot, wander through World Showcase and grab snacks from Karamel Kuche in Germany. They are chock full of delicious caramel snacks and they have some great options that are travel friendly so you can spend snack credits and take treats home. They have Toffifay boxed candy, Riesen bagged candy and also Werther’s bagged candy products.
At Animal Kingdom, Ziwani Trader Store has wrapped krispie treats, Minnie’s bake shop boxed cookies, Chip And Dale Pretzels and also nuts. All of these snacks are travel friendly. Expedition Everest store also has to go treats like Goofy Candy that is pre-packaged.

Next, go over to Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Select an ice cream flavor. They have vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookies and cream, mint chocolate chip, no sugar added butter pecan and no sugar added raspberry sorbet. They also have a fat-free vanilla chocolate swirl; but, that to me is like eating a dozen donuts and washing it down with a diet coke. Also, make sure to get a side of sauce. The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor will do a side of caramel, chocolate or peanut butter sauce so just do it, each of these are $.69 each…calories are not counting today. Ice cream can be purchased with a snack credit
The final part of this is going to be to either cut your cupcake in half or get your cookies ready and then you are going to make yourself an incredible sandwich. Get your cupcake bottom or first cookie, get your ice cream in the middle there, slap that top one on and pour that sauce over. If you really want to get crazy, get yourself a cake pop and stick that right on top and unbutton those jeans because you are going to crazy town.
If you get the cupcake, the cake pop, the ice cream that is three snack credits. If you do the two cookies instead of the cupcake that is four snack credits. Like I said, this is an incredible splurge. I do not think that any nutritionist would give this a thumbs up and you might want to get an extra ten laps around the park this day. But it’s fun and you could share it many ways and I think it’s a great use of a lot of extra snack credits on your last day in the happiest place on earth!
Always remember, that if you have a question on if something is a snack credit or not, just ask! The symbol below signifies a DDP snack credit and you can find it on the label of the item.
So that’s it for this post. Thanks for stopping by and we sure hope to see you again soon. Use those snack credits, don’t lose them and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
