The anticipation is mounting! Our itinerary is set, except that it will all change if we are able to secure a dinner reservation at Ohana. We will be in Disney for seven days and six nights. I know that a lot of people go into vacation saying, it’s a vacation I don’t want an itinerary. My husband and I are not those people, we like to have plans.
As mentioned in a previous post, we arrive in Disney around 4 pm and will take Disney’s Magical Express to our hotel, the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. After that we will head straight to Epcot for The Frozen Ever After Dessert Party and IllumiNations. We have never done the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party and I am really looking forward to it. This is not included with your park ticket, so if you want to do this, you must purchase a separate ticket for it.
For our first full day in Disney, I am most looking forward to Candlelight Processional. Although we did this last year, we have a different celebrity narrator this year and I think it will be just as exciting the second time around. I am also really excited to not only rope drop Epcot but also to close the Magic Kingdom that night. After Candlelight Processional, we are going to head over to Magic Kingdom so that we can see the Happily Ever After Fireworks show at 11 p.m. and then say in the park to be one of the very last people to leave that night. I think we will have some amazing photo opportunities and it will awesome to see Magic Kingdom without the crowds.
The next day we have Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and although we did this twice last year, like i said, there is always more to do! Last year, we waited in line for the Seven Dwarfs photo opportunity. My advice to you is that this is really an incredible photo because there are only two times a year when you can get a photo with all seven of them and if this is something you want to do, get in line early and be prepared to wait. This year, we are going to get our picture with Christmas Mickey! Super excited about that! Our plan is to get there and get that done early since we will be in Magic Kingdom all day, I will plan our Fast Passes earlier in the day so that we can get in line and get this photo done and enjoy the rest of the party.
Our third full day in Disney is going to be jam packed with new and exciting things. Animal Kingdom! This will our first trip to Pandora and we plan to take full advantage of this entire day and see all there is to see! First up, rope drop Animal Kingdom. Extra magic hours is this day at Animal Kingdom and that means that for everyone staying at a Disney World resort, the park opens early and remains open later for these guests. Since Pandora is so new and popular, this reduces the crowds to only resort guests and being there at rope drop will reduce the crowds even more.
We plan on getting there and hurrying to Flight of Passage to get a ride on that before the line gets outrageous. I also plan on getting a Fast Pass for this ride later in the day. I’m also really excited for Na’vi River Journey, which is less popular than Flight of Passage and I have heard that it is a really short ride but still really cool.
We head back to Magic Kingdom for our next day. We are planning on rope dropping Magic Kingdom to get in there early and see the welcome show. We have actually never seen this but it used to be done at the entrance to the park and is now done at Cinderella’s Castle. It’s supposed to be a really cute show opening up the park for the day.
What I am most excited for on this day is, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Dessert Party! So many treats! So much sugar, so much chocolate, so much excitement! In order to get into Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Dessert Party you have to buy not only the ticket to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party but ALSO the separate ticket to the dessert party. This can obviously get expensive, so if you want to save a little money and splurge on this dessert party, maybe have a day at the hotel or in Disney Springs for this day and not get a regular park pass.
For our last full day in Disney, we are heading back to Epcot. We have lunch reservations at Akershus, in Norway. This restaurant is one I have seen a lot of mixed reviews for. Some people say that the food is mediocre and I’ll be honest with you, we are going here because when we dined at Cinderella’s Castle last year Belle was not one of the princesses making the rounds that night and Belle is a regular at Akershus and I want to meet Belle in her gold dress.
So that is a look at some of what I am most looking forward to on our upcoming trip. There are so many other things that I can’t wait to highlight for you! Stay tuned for a look at the snacks and food I am most excited to try and a sneak peak at our restaurant schedule for the trip. So many posts to come! Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you real soon and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse!
